The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department has announced a major relief for students under the UP Post Matric Scholarship Scheme 2025–26. All colleges and institutions must prepare and lock their master data by 2 January 2026. -
Verification by Universities and Affiliating Bodies:
Universities and affiliating agencies will verify student numbers and fee details by 9 January 2026. -
Final Verification at District Level:
District Social Welfare Officers will complete the final verification of master data and fees by 15 January 2026.
This step is crucial as scholarship applications cannot be processed without properly verified master data.
Application Process for General, OBC, and Minority Students
Students belonging to the General, OBC, and Minority categories can submit their online applications up to 14 January 2026.

Applicants must submit the printed application form along with required documents to their respective institutions by 21 January 2026. -
Institution-Level Verification:
Colleges will complete application verification by 27 January 2026. -
University-Level Student Verification:
Universities will conduct real student verification between 28 January and 7 February 2026. -
Data Scrutiny by NIC:
The National Informatics Centre (NIC) will complete data scrutiny by 9 February 2026.
After successful completion of all stages, the scholarship and fee reimbursement amount will be credited by 18 March 2026 through the PFMS directly into students’ Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts.
Extended Deadline and Additional Relief for SC and ST Students
In a significant relief, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students have been given additional time to apply.
- Last Date to Apply: 31 March 2026
- Final Scholarship Disbursement: By 22 June 2026
This extended timeline aims to ensure that no eligible SC/ST student is deprived of financial assistance due to procedural delays.
