Under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken another significant step in favour of students. The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department has announced a revised schedule for the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for the academic session 2025–26, providing a fresh opportunity to eligible students who were earlier deprived due to the non-locking of master data on time.

The revised timetable has been issued to ensure that no deserving student misses out on scholarship and fee reimbursement benefits because of technical or procedural delays.

Benefit Extended to Students of All Categories

The revised arrangement will be equally applicable to General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), Minority, Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students. The state government aims to ensure that no eligible student is forced to discontinue education due to financial constraints.

This decision reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive education and equal opportunities for all sections of society.

Transparent and Time-Bound Scholarship Process

Social Welfare Minister of State (Independent Charge) Aseem Arun stated that the revised schedule is a strong initiative towards making the scholarship process more transparent, error-free, and time-bound. The updated timeline will help in ensuring timely disbursement of scholarship funds to eligible students.

Master Data Locking and Verification Timeline

According to Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department, Anand Kumar Singh, the revised schedule includes the following key dates:

• Preparation of Master Data by Institutions:
  From 23 December 2025 to 2 January 2026

• Verification by Universities and Affiliating Agencies:
  From 23 December 2025 to 9 January 2026, covering fee structure and student strength

• Final Verification by District Social Welfare Officer:
  To be completed by 15 January 2026

Master data verification is a critical step, as scholarship applications cannot proceed without it.

Application Process for General, OBC, and Minority Students

Students belonging to the General, OBC, and Minority categories can apply online till 14 January 2026.

• Submission of Hard Copy with Documents:
  By 21 January 2026 at respective institutions

• Institution-Level Verification:
  To be completed by 27 January 2026

• University-Level Actual Student Verification:
  From 28 January to 7 February 2026

• Data Scrutiny by NIC:
  Up to 9 February 2026

After successful completion of all stages, the scholarship and fee reimbursement amount will be transferred by 18 March 2026 through the PFMS directly into Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts of students.

Special Relief for SC and ST Students

Students belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories have been given additional time to apply.

• Last Date to Apply: 31 March 2026
• Final Scholarship Disbursement: By 22 June 2026

This extension ensures social justice and provides adequate time for students from these categories to complete all formalities.

Deputy Director Anand Kumar Singh has urged educational institutions, universities, and students to strictly adhere to the revised timeline. Any delay or non-compliance may adversely affect the scholarship process and payment schedule.

Students are advised to:

• Apply well before the deadline
• Submit correct documents
• Ensure Aadhaar-linked bank accounts
• Regularly check official scholarship portals for updates
