UGC NET December 2025 Exam Dates for Hindi and Sanskrit Released: Check Shift and Schedule
NTA Announces Subject-Wise Timetable; Hindi on 06 January, Sanskrit on 03 January
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the subject-wise schedule for the UGC NET December 2025 examination, to be held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode from 31 December 2025 to 07 January 2026.
Among the major language subjects, Hindi and Sanskrit examinations will be conducted on separate dates as shown in Annexure-I of the official notification issued on 17 December 2025.
UGC NET Hindi Exam Date and Shift Details
Candidates registered for the Hindi subject (Subject Code: 020) must take note of the following schedule:
- Subject Name: Hindi
- Subject Code: 020
- Exam Date: 06 January 2026
- Shift: Shift-II (Afternoon Session)
- Exam Time: 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM
Hindi exam will be held along with Tamil, Mass Communication & Journalism, Kannada, and other subjects in the afternoon shift.
UGC NET Sanskrit Exam Date and Shift Details
Sanskrit subject candidates must follow the schedule below:
- Subject Name: Sanskrit
- Subject Code: 025
- Exam Date: 03 January 2026
- Shift: Shift-I (Morning Session)
- Exam Time: 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Sanskrit examination will take place along with Commerce, Santali, Criminology and other listed subjects in the morning shift.

- Duration: 3 Hours
- Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
