The (NTA) has officially released the provisional answer keys, question papers, and recorded responses for the Joint CSIR–UGC NET December 2025 examination. Along with the answer keys, the agency has also activated the online challenge facility, allowing candidates to raise objections against any answer they believe is incorrect.

The Joint CSIR–UGC NET December 2025 exam was conducted on December 18, 2025, in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across the country for more than 2.12 lakh candidates. The provisional answer keys have been uploaded on the official portal csirnet.nta.nic.in, and candidates can now review their responses and submit challenges within the prescribed timeline.

  • Last Date to Submit Objections: January 1, 2026 (up to 11:00 PM)

Candidates must note that objections submitted after the deadline will not be considered under any circumstances.

  • Application Number

How to Challenge CSIR UGC NET December 2025 Answer Key

NTA has released a detailed Annexure-I explaining the objection process. Candidates must strictly follow the steps outlined below:

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

Go to csirnet.nta.nic.in and click on “Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key”.

Step 2: Login to Your Account

Enter your application number, password, and security pin to access the candidate dashboard.

Step 3: View Question Paper and Recorded Responses

Click on “View Question Paper” to check:

  • Question IDs
  • Options selected by you
  • Provisional correct answers

Candidates are advised to carefully match the Question IDs, as they may not appear in sequential order.

Step 4: Select the Question to Challenge

If you are not satisfied with the answer marked as correct, select one or more alternative Option IDs for the concerned Question ID.

Step 5: Upload Supporting Documents

Upload valid academic proof or references:

  • All documents must be combined into a single PDF file
  • Upload using the “Choose File” option

Step 6: Review or Modify Claims

Click on “Submit and Review Claims”.
Candidates can either modify their claims or proceed with Final Submit.

Step 7: Pay the Objection Fee

Pay ₹200 per question as a non-refundable processing fee using:

  • Debit Card
  • Credit Card
  • Net Banking
  • UPI

Step 8: Final Submission

The challenge will be saved only after successful payment. No challenge will be accepted without payment confirmation.

If a question is found incorrect or if more than one option is correct, the benefit of marks will be awarded to all candidates who attempted the question correctly.

  • All objections will be reviewed by a panel of subject experts
  • If a challenge is accepted, the answer key will be revised
  • The revised answer key will apply to all candidates
  • No individual candidate will be informed about acceptance or rejection
  • The final answer key released after expert review will be binding
  • Results will be prepared strictly on the basis of the final answer key

The CSIR NET December 2025 result is expected to be declared in January 2026. The result will indicate separate qualifying status for:

  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
  • Lectureship / Assistant Professor
