The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the provisional answer key, question papers, and recorded responses for the Joint CSIR–UGC NET December 2025 examination. Along with the answer key, NTA has also opened the answer key challenge window, allowing candidates to raise objections against any question or answer they find incorrect.
The Joint CSIR–UGC NET December 2025 examination was conducted on December 18, 2025 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across India for over 2.12 lakh candidates. The provisional answer keys are now available on the official website csirnet.nta.nic.in for review and challenge.

According to the official public notice issued by NTA:
- Provisional Answer Key Release: December 30, 2025
- Answer Key Challenge Window: December 30, 2025 to January 1, 2026
- Last Date to Pay Objection Fee: January 1, 2026 (up to 11:00 PM)
- Objection Fee: ₹200 per question (non-refundable)
No challenges will be accepted after the deadline or through offline modes.

How to Challenge CSIR UGC NET December 2025 Answer Key
NTA has issued a detailed step-by-step procedure for challenging the provisional answer key. Candidates must strictly follow the official process.
Step-by-Step Answer Key Challenge Process
Step 1
Visit the official website csirnet.nta.nic.in and click on
“Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key”
Step 2
Login using:
- Application Number
- Password
- Security Pin (Captcha)
Step 3
Click on “View Question Paper” to:
- View marked/recorded responses
- Check provisional correct answers
- Identify the Question ID to be challenged
⚠️ Note: Question IDs may not appear in sequential order. Candidates must match them carefully with the question paper.
Step 4
Select the question and choose the option(s) you believe are correct instead of the provisional answer.
Step 5
Upload supporting academic documents:
- All documents must be combined into a single PDF file
- Upload using the “Choose File” option
Step 6
Click on “Submit and Review Claims”
Candidates may either:
- Modify their claims, or
- Proceed to Final Submit
Step 7
Click “Pay Now” and pay ₹200 per question via:
- Debit Card
- Credit Card
- Net Banking
- UPI
Step 8
Claims will be saved only after successful payment.
No challenge will be entertained without fee payment.
Key Rules for CSIR NET Answer Key Objection
- ₹200 per question is non-refundable
- Multiple questions can be challenged
- Objections without valid proof may be rejected
- Challenges are verified by a panel of subject experts
- No individual candidate will be informed about acceptance or rejection of objections
- The final answer key prepared by experts will be binding
What Happens After the Objection Window Closes
After January 1, 2026:
- All objections will be reviewed by subject experts
- If a challenge is found valid, the answer key will be revised
- Revised answers will apply to all candidates
- The final result will be prepared strictly on the basis of the final answer key
