The Indira Gandhi National Open University has extended the re-registration deadline for the January 2026 academic session. Students enrolled in programmes offered through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes can now complete their re-registration until March 15, 2026, with a late fee.
IGNOU Re-Registration 2026: The Indira Gandhi National Open University has once again extended the IGNOU Re-Registration 2026 last date for the January session. Students who wish to continue their studies in the upcoming semester can now submit the IGNOU Re-Registration 2026 form till March 15, 2026. The university has clearly stated that no further extension will be granted after this deadline.
Candidates completing the IGNOU Re-Registration 2026 process must pay a late fee of INR 200 along with the programme fee. Through the IGNOU January Re-Registration 2026, eligible learners enrolled in distance and online programmes can register for the next semester or academic year. The extended deadline applies to Open and Distance Learning ODL and Online Mode programmes, while certificate and semester-based programmes are excluded from this extension.
Earlier, the university had also extended the IGNOU ODL registration deadline to March 15, 2026, providing students additional time to complete their academic formalities for the January session.

Students can complete the IGNOU Re-Registration 2026 process by following these simple steps
- Visit the official IGNOU re-registration portal onlinerr.ignou.ac.in
- Click on IGNOU January Re-Registration 2026 on the homepage
- Log in using User ID, Password and Security PIN
- Click on the Login button
- Fill the IGNOU Re-Registration 2026 form and select the required courses
- Pay the late fee and programme fee online
- Save and submit the form
To successfully submit the IGNOU Re-Registration 2026 form, candidates need to pay INR 300 along with the applicable late fee for programmes offered under ODL and Online mode, except for semester-based courses.
