The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the UGC NET December 2025 Day 2 Shift 2 examination today, January 2, 2026, in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across examination centres in the country. The afternoon shift is scheduled from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
As per the official timetable, the UGC NET Day 2 Shift 2 exam is being held for eight subjects, including Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Oriya, Yoga, Punjabi, Social Medicine & Community Health, and Women Studies. Thousands of candidates are appearing in this shift to qualify for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor eligibility.

UGC NET December 2025 Exam Schedule
The UGC NET December 2025 examination is being conducted for 85 subjects in two shifts daily:
- Shift I: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Shift II: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
The exam cycle began on December 31, 2025, and will continue till January 7, 2026.
Documents to Carry for UGC NET January 2 Shift 2 Exam
Candidates appearing for the UGC NET Day 2 Shift 2 exam must carry the following documents to the examination centre for verification:
- Printed UGC NET Admit Card
- One valid Government-issued Photo ID, such as:
- Aadhaar Card
- PAN Card
- Passport
- Voter ID
- Driving Licence
- One passport-size photograph (same as uploaded in the application form)
- PwD/Disability Certificate, if applicable
Candidates without the admit card or valid photo ID are not permitted to enter the examination hall.
Important Exam Day Instructions
- Reach the examination centre as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit card
- Digital copies or screenshots of the admit card are not accepted
- Follow all instructions issued by invigilators at the exam centre
- Electronic gadgets, mobile phones, calculators, and prohibited items are not allowed
- Rough sheets provided during the exam must be returned before leaving the centre
