NIFTEE 2026: NTA Adds New Examination Cities, Total Centres Increase to 102

New Delhi | December 23, 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the addition of new examination cities for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026. The decision has been taken to enhance accessibility and provide greater convenience to aspirants appearing for the prestigious fashion entrance examination conducted for admissions to National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).

The update has been issued through a Public Notice dated December 23, 2025, while the online registration process for NIFTEE 2026 continues as per the earlier notice released on December 8, 2025.

New Examination Cities Added for NIFTEE 2026

As per the official notice, the NTA has approved the addition of two new examination cities based on requests received from NIFT and keeping in mind the convenience of candidates from the concerned regions.

Newly Added Cities

  • Vapi, Gujarat – City Code: GJ34
  • Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (UT) – City Code: DD01

These additions aim to reduce travel-related challenges and ensure smoother access to examination centres for candidates residing in nearby regions.

Total Number of NIFTEE 2026 Exam Cities Now 102

Before this update, 100 examination cities were already available for NIFTEE 2026 across India. With the inclusion of Vapi and Daman, the total number of examination cities has increased to 102.

This expansion reflects NTA’s continued effort to ensure wider geographical coverage, better logistical planning, and improved comfort for candidates appearing in the national-level entrance examination.

Important Instructions for Registered Candidates

Candidates who have already submitted their NIFTEE 2026 application forms and selected other examination cities need not worry. The NTA has clarified that such candidates will be given an opportunity to choose from the newly added cities during the correction window.

Key Points to Note

  • The correction window will open after the closure of the application submission deadline
  • The exact schedule for the correction window will be notified separately
  • Candidates can modify their exam city preference during this period

Applicants are strongly advised to keep checking the official websites for updates regarding correction dates.

Advice to Candidates: Avoid Last-Minute Hassle

The NTA has urged candidates not to wait until the last date to complete the online application process. Completing the registration well in advance will help avoid technical issues, server congestion, or data submission errors at the final stage.

Exam Centre Allotment Policy

While every effort will be made to allot candidates an examination centre in one of their preferred cities, the NTA has clearly stated that it reserves the right to allot a centre in a city other than the candidate’s choice.

This decision may be taken due to:

  • administrative reasons
  • logistical constraints
  • capacity limitations at certain centres

Candidates are therefore advised to remain flexible while selecting exam cities.

Other Terms and Conditions Remain Unchanged

The NTA has confirmed that all other terms and conditions mentioned in:

  • the official Information Bulletin, and
  • earlier Public Notices

will remain unchanged for NIFTEE 2026.
