DACE-BHU Admission 2025–26: Applications Invited for Free Civil Services Coaching for SC and OBC Candidates
Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence, BHU Offers One-Year Free Coaching for UPSC and State PCS Examinations
The Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, has released the Information Bulletin for DACE-BHU Admission 2025–26, inviting online applications from eligible SC and OBC candidates for admission to its Free Coaching Scheme for Civil Services Examinations.
The coaching programme is conducted under the auspices of Dr Ambedkar Foundation and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and aims to support economically disadvantaged students preparing for Central Civil Services (UPSC) and State Civil Services (SPSC) examinations.

Objective of the DACE-BHU Free Coaching Scheme
The primary objective of the DACE scheme is to provide high-quality free coaching to students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs), enabling them to compete effectively in Group-A public service examinations and secure employment in the public sector.
Courses Offered Under DACE-BHU Coaching Programme
The following competitive examinations are covered under the scheme:
- UPSC Civil Services Examination (Group-A)
- State Public Service Commission Examinations (Group-A)
Course Duration and Total Seats
- Duration: One Year (12 Months)
- Total Seats: 100
Admission will be strictly based on merit in the entrance examination.
Eligibility Criteria for DACE-BHU Admission 2025–26
To be eligible, candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
Category and Income Criteria
- Only SC and OBC candidates are eligible
- Annual family income must not exceed ₹8 lakh from all sources
Educational Qualification
- Candidate must have completed graduation at the time of availing benefits
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 years (as on 01 January 2026)
- Maximum Age: 35 years (as on 01 January 2026)
Other Key Conditions
- Aadhaar number and Aadhaar-linked bank account are mandatory
- Benefit under the scheme can be availed maximum twice
- Candidates already employed in any government or private organization are not eligible
- Candidates who have already availed DACE coaching twice are not eligible
- Pursuing another academic course simultaneously is not allowed
Documents Required at the Time of Counselling
Candidates must produce the following documents:
- Passport-size photograph
- Self-attested mark sheets from Class 10 onwards
- SC / OBC-NCL caste certificate
- Latest income certificate (issued by Tehsildar or above)
- Aadhaar card
- Aadhaar-linked bank account details
- DACE identity card (if previously enrolled)
- Two post-dated cheques of ₹37,500 each
Application Fee
- Application Fee: ₹250
Mode and Venue of Entrance Examination
- Mode: Offline Written Examination
- Venue: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Campus, Varanasi
Entrance Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Exam Pattern
- One question paper of 300 marks
- 100 questions × 3 marks
- Negative marking: 1 mark deducted for each wrong answer
Syllabus Includes
- General Studies (History, Polity, Economy, Geography, Science & Technology, Environment, Current Affairs)
- Reasoning and Analytical Aptitude
- General English (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension)
- General Hindi (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension)
Reservation Policy
- Minimum 70% seats reserved for SC candidates
- At least 30% seats reserved for female candidates in each category
- Minimum SC reservation shall not fall below 50% under any circumstances

- Last Date to Apply: 10 January 2026
Financial Benefits Under the Scheme
Selected candidates will receive:
- Course Fee: Up to ₹75,000 (paid by Dr Ambedkar Foundation)
- Monthly Stipend: ₹4,000 for up to 12 months
- Interview Incentive: ₹15,000 for candidates qualifying mains and appearing for interviews

Monitoring and Attendance Rules
- Biometric attendance will be recorded daily
- Minimum 75% monthly attendance is mandatory
- Admission may be cancelled for unauthorized absence
- Leaving the course midway without approval may lead to recovery of expenses
