CSIR NET 2025 December Exam Analysis LIVE: Shift 1 Over, Shift 2 Underway; Check Difficulty & Subjects
New Delhi, December 18, 2025:
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the CSIR NET 2025 December session today, December 18, in two shifts across India. The exam is held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for five major science subjects.
Shift 1 has been successfully completed, while Shift 2 began at 3 PM and will conclude at 6 PM. Detailed exam analysis, student feedback, and difficulty level insights are being updated LIVE below.
Why Exam Analysis Matters
Analysis plays a crucial role for aspirants as it reveals:
- overall difficulty level of the question paper
- distribution of topics in each subject
- number and type of questions asked

Candidates were allowed entry for Shift 2 from 1 PM onwards. The exam will be completed by 6 PM.
Shift 1 Analysis – Life Science and Earth Science
Shift 1 was conducted from 9 AM to 12 Noon for the following subjects:
- Life Sciences
- Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
Based on the initial response from test takers, the overall difficulty was Moderate to Tough.
For Life Sciences specifically:
- Developmental Biology – easy
- Ecology – easy
- Higher-order reasoning questions in Part C were lengthy
Candidates found Part B and Part C slightly challenging compared to Part A.
