The National Testing Agency (NTA) has once again opened up the submission portal for the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate (CUET UG 2026). This reopening comes as a response to various appeals about challenges with the application process and payment confirmation, as per the NTA's announcement.
"NTA has reopened the CUET registration 2026 window after receiving multiple requests from candidates for application form submission and payment of application fee." This year's exam is set for the period spanning May 11 to May 31, covering not just Indian locations but extending to several international cities as well.
CUET UG 2026 features administration in 13 languages: Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, and Hindi. This multilingual format seeks to widen participation for applicants from a range of linguistic backgrounds, facilitating broader access to undergraduate study.
Entrants may opt for up to five subjects from a pool of 37, which comprises 23 domain-specific fields and 13 language choices. Assessment totals 250 marks, spread across three sections. Candidates receive five points for each accurate response; an incorrect answer results in a deduction of one point. The official website provides downloadable access to the full examination syllabus.
The CUET UG functions as a single entrance exam for those seeking undergraduate admission to 47 central universities and over 300 participating colleges in India.
