The Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate programmes will be conducted from March 6 to March 27, 2026, in computer based mode across multiple days and shifts. The examination is being organised for admission into a wide range of postgraduate courses offered by central state deemed and participating universities.

CUET PG 2026 Exam Dates
As per the official notification the CUET PG 2026 examination will be conducted over a span of 20 days.
Exam Period: March 6 to March 27, 2026
Mode of Examination: Computer Based Test
Duration of Each Paper: 90 Minutes

Exam Shifts and Timing Structure
To accommodate the large number of candidates and subjects the examination will be held in two to three shifts daily.

Afternoon Shift 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM
Evening Shift 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM
Each session will carry a duration of 90 minutes, during which candidates must attempt all questions in the allotted time.
Number of Subjects and Candidates Registered
CUET PG 2026 will be conducted for 157 postgraduate subjects, making it one of the largest national level PG entrance examinations in India.
Approximately 4.11 lakh candidates have registered for the exam this year reflecting the growing reliance on CUET scores for postgraduate admissions.
According to NTA guidelines each candidate is allowed to appear for a maximum of four test papers, depending on eligibility and course requirements.
Language of the Question Paper
NTA has also clarified the medium of examination for different subject categories.
Most papers will be available in English and Hindi.
41 language subjects will be conducted only in their respective languages.
MTech and Higher Science papers will be conducted in English only.
Acharya papers will be in Sanskrit except select interdisciplinary subjects.
Indian Knowledge System and Bauddha Darshan will be trilingual Hindi Sanskrit and English.
Hindu Studies paper will be bilingual Hindi and English.
